 2016 FISHING CLASSIC REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW BEING TAKEN AT FISHING CLASSIC HQ - EDWARD RIVER OVAL until 5pm today (19th Feb), then 5.30pm-7.30pm at the Deni RSL Club

Saturday (20th Feb) Registrations from 6.30am at Fishing HQ


We have two new events in the 2016 Fishing Classic.

Kayak Section - 5kms of River that is all for the Kayakers. Includes an exclusive Kayak Section Competition: Mystery Length Cod. $800 worth of 'Custom Craft" lures up for grabs!!.

 

$5,000 Catch - Be the lucky person to catch 'Colin" the tagged fish and win yourself $5,000!!!!.

Take a photo on your brag mat with your registration card clearly visible, cut off the special tag, release Colin back into the river and then present tag and photo to the Chief Marshall at HQ

MARITIME BOATING SAFETY OFFICERS AND MARITIME POLICE WILL BE ON THE WATER THROUGHOUT THE EVENT. PLEASE REMAIN A RESPONSIBLE DRIVER AT ALL TIMES.

Any Child 12 years and under wear PFD at all times

ALL vessels

Have enough life jackets in good condition, correct size and easily accessible for all persons onboard.

Fire Extinguishers

All vessels with electric start, electric motors, battery (gps/sounder), gas or fuel stoves on board MUST have an extinguisher.

VESSEL REGISTRATION

Current rego to be displayed on vessel - bring a receipt if label is still "in mail"

BOAT LICENCE

Must be current. Will be required to produce if you are travelling at 10 knots or more (plaining speed)

ALCOHOL

0.05 Blood Alcohol Level for the driver of the boat

Loss of licence and fines will aplly for over the limit

The fish just get bigger and bigger with Doris Mills surpassing the last few years winners with 950cm cod.

Brad Smith was 2014 champion Angler with a 870mm Cod caught on a lure winning the trophy (Harry the Cod) from 2013 champion angler John Farren-Price with his 775mm cod and 2012 winner Lyndsay Jefferies with a 75cm cod on a yabby.
